Is it normal to have pain inside my labia lip during period?

It's on my left, and I assumed it was a hair getting pulled. It started 4 months ago. But even if I'm shaved it hurts! It's inside of the lip and there's a bump inside too. Is there something wrong? I really don't want to go to the doctor about it, but if it could be cancer or something I guess I have too.
