Is it normal to have pain in your rib area

so recently I have been having a really sharp pain in my back when I bend over, move my arm to quickly, reach over to grab something, or breath to deaply. it is just below my right shoulder blade like where the back of my ribs are. I was at a party and I was tackled and I don't really know how I landed or got smushed but that's why it hurts. I just don't know if I broke something, pulled a muscle, or dislocated it or something. I got tackled 3 days ago and it's only gotten worse someone please help me

I had a pain like that once. It wasn't from being tackled or anything, though, it just was. Feels like a knife.

It eventually went away on its own for me, I can't quite remember, but I think it was a few days. I had to take shallow breaths - which drove me crazy as I felt like I couldn't breathe, and I panic pretty quickly when I feel like I can't get air.

Did a quick google search. Found this: http://chirotalk.wordpress.com/2008/05/15/my-back-hurts-when-i-take-a-breath/

Seems like a reasonable answer. I wouldn't trust a chiropractor, personally, but that's down to my own bad experience with one (who I believe caused a disc herniation through his 'treatment'). If you can go to an osteopath, I find them much better than chiros, because they work with the whole body, whereas chiro can be more about just the skeletal system.
