Yes, oil is natural to keep your hair healthy, that is why it shouldn't be washed every single day of the week.
Weird comment here, but I saw a show on tv the other day, they said if your hair is extra oily letely, then bursh in some flour to soak it up, and it'll clear up. Hope it helps :) It wouldn't hurt to try
The more you wash it, the oilier it gets. I used to wash mine daily, too.
It's so worth taking the time to cut it down to less washes. It feels gross in the process, but once it's under control, it feels so much better. Use an organic, paraben/petrochemical free shampoo (expensive, but aso so worth it - you only use a teeny tiny amount, it lasts long enough). I use a dry shampoo spray on the inbetween days, simply cos I can't stand the oiliness. I did get to washing every 2nd day with no oiliness inbetween but then my routine got out of whack so I'm back to working through the ick stage again. Next step - three days without washing...hmm...maybe.
Good luck!
What's your diet like? I have short hair and only shampoo it every three or four days but if I eat badly, I notice it really looks like it needs washing after those three or four days, whereas normally it never looks like it needs washing.
Oily hair means healthy hair :) do your research, I know they have shampoos out there made specifically for really oily hair. I would also maybe stay away from pantene shampoos. I've heard bad things about their shampoo and that it's bad for people with oily hair.
