Is it normal to have odd dreams like this?

I usually don't dream unless I'm really sick with the flu or something, but suddenly I've been having really odd dreams. Like the other night I dreamt I was with my class and teacher in this odd looking house. It was "nap time", and I decided to cuddle next to a boy I thought was cute. When "nap time" was over, I got up and felt something weird underneath my tongue. I looked in the mirror, took a blade, slit it open and a shitload of worm/centipedes came out! I had to drain my tongue several time and keep slitting it to make sure I got em all. When I woke up it all felt so real like.

Although that's one of my many queer dreams, I've now been having one about my friends dying! For the last 2-3 nights I've had the same based dream, just different scenery. I don't really like it. Anybody else like this? Thanks in advanced.

Haven't heard queer being used to mean strange in a LONG time.

Everybody has strange dreams, some less strange and more strange than others. Yours sound pretty typical within the realm of nightmares. A sudden increase in disturbing dreams suggests psychological turmoil - for example anxiety caused by a change in your social life, work life, relationships, sleeping habits, additional stress, depression, unfamiliar surroundings or something else. However, there isn't always a coherent reason for a new, frequently recurring nightmare.

It's a good idea not to take it too seriously - try and relax as much as possible and aim to be in a positive frame of mind before sleep.

Thanks :) & yeah, I figured I wouldn't try to stress myself out over it that's for sure. I will try to relax and think positive for sure:) once again, thanks:)

We dream when we sleep. We usually just forget what we dreamed about... Some dreams are better OFF forgotten so it's all good.

Perhaps there is a secret that you sub-consciously wanted to "tell it all"? That might have been really bothering you for sometime?

  • That sounds like a fairly normal nightmare. I have not heard the term queer used to mean strange. I know that's the old meaning but I was thinking you were talking about homosexual dreams which are normal as well.

Sounds interesting and idk if its normal but everyone has AT LEAST one dream per night, we just dont remember them always. Humans must dream. So i think U must hav done something or ate something to make u remember or have these strange dreams.

I don't like dreaming much. Sure I enjoy the heavenly dreams I have, but when I wake up, I get pissed that it was just a dream. And the nightmares. Most are family death related. Those make me a total mess for the whole day. My mum and dad are the only family I have. All of my grandparents passed away (2 in front of me), so that is the worst.
