Is it normal to have no idea what i've been doing at my new job?

I've been working for nearly 3 weeks now. My first real job.
I'm doing programming. I've nooo idea what's going on. I'm building an application with scarce requirements and I'm not connected to the repository network. I'm not even sure if I'm following the requirements correctly or if I'm allowed to use 3rd party APIs in the language I'm doing (which I have been using). I feel so behind and slow. Is it normal to have no idea what you're doing even after nearly 3 weeks?

I have no idea what you are talking about with all that technical lingo, but I can relate to not knowing WTF you are doing on a new job; I think that is normal.

  • Took me a year or more before I realized what the hell I was supposed to be doing. Hell I didnt even have an office for the first 6 months. I just sat in a conference room, a huge conference room, all by myself.

Ask your supervisors or coworkers if they can help you out.
