Is it normal to have no idea about one's preference in this?

In today's world everyone has choices and preferences. I can't judge as to what looks good or not. I mean, if one asks my personal preference in matters like clothes or shoes or watches or ANYTHING related to appearance, I can't make a good choice.
Is it normal to be this nervous to make as meager a decision as to what slippers one's going to purchase?

It is something that I do all of the time.
I do not exactly have unlimited funds and I do not clothing shop very often but when I do, I often have to choose "just one" and I am always worried that the "just one" that I like won't match anything that I have in my closet or that tomorrow I will have buyer's remorse and wish that I had gotten something else.

I just think of it this way... If I am going to regret it or I can't decide anyway, there is no use in fretting if the result is going to be the same, which is, I'll be taking something home and regretting it tomorrow. Since I know what to expect, I fret less. This technique never fails XD

interesting thought. For me, its for EVERYTHING. (except roadside snacks :P thank god for that!)
Its just sad. I read an article on wikipedia titled "Analysis Paralysis"
I think I'm suffering from that. Its like, you think so much about whatever you do that you never get to do it cuz you think too much.
