Is it normal to have no friends at all?

Recently I switched off my phone for good and cut myself from my all friends. Is it normal to do so or I am going to be a sociopath? I was seriously fed up with those hypocrites. They have no similarlity with me and I had to force myself to connect with them, just to say that "I have some friends at least". They never cared for me and only called me when they needed me, I had a feeling of being used for sometimes but we studied together so I could not possibly avoid them. Now studies are over and I seriously wanted to end that relations as well. Is it normal to have no friends at all?

They say if you find one true friend in your whole life you are truly lucky.

I have recently done something similar to dozens of my 'friends' in that I've stopped answering their texts. It didn't take me long to weed out the users either. Now I have it down to a mere handful and I'm happy with that!

    • Yup I am trying to make but the problem is, people are more busy in making money and social status or, otherwise busy with their partners. They don't care much about friends unless their job or their mate starts to irritate them.

people suck, but when you find a good person to be around you will just know. being alone is one of the coolest things you can do because you are able to understand and learn so much more. i think its underrated.

I know what you mean, but in a way, at least in my opinion, that's just how the majority of people are. I wish you would reconsider your decision to shut yourself out from them though, unless your the kind of loner that actually enjoys being alone, then no big deal I guess, but if not, take it from me that it can really hurt you over time, perhaps permanently.

    • Well I am not planning to have no friends at all but for the time being, I better feel alone than with money conscious people.

  • It happens. Some of my friends were like that.

The good thing is that you recognize the problem and many people never do.

What I mean is- Surely wherever you live there is somebody you could be friends with. Do you have any siblings? Perhaps you could join some clubs or something to meet people???

    • Well my all siblings are married, and my parents are quite against club type things :( However I am planning to move out of the country for some time, but it is not that easy either.
