Is it normal to have never had a boyfriend before?

I'm in my late teens and I've never had a boyfriend before. All the girls at my school have had a boyfriend before and I feel like I'm the only one.

Hell yeah its normal. I'm 18 and never had a bf. I've had crushes on some SEXY guys at school, turned down a few dates, but always told myself to focus on the big picture before "love". Its lonely sometimes, but it saves you the drama and heartache. THat much I Know.

Not everyone has a boyfriend or girlfriend in their teens. I didn't have a girlfriend until I was 19. But then again I was a geek.

You are so normal. I have the most beautiful best friends (four of them) and not ONE of them has had a boyfriend. My closest friend had a brief fling, but nothing serious and it lasted two weeks. It makes zero sense, you can be beautiful, intelligent and lovely like they are ( and trust me THEY are!) and still be single. It happens. Don't count yourself unfortunate. Stop waiting, make a life for yourself and things will fall into place. :)

Don't worry about it, it will happen and when it does you will probably look back and miss the days when you didn't.

You know, this is one of those questions that is always going to be asked. More people than you think are dealing with the same issue. I am 21 years old and never had a serious boyfriend. The farthest I got was 'friends with benefits', which crashed and burned and eventually just became awkward, and I do not suggest doing that. However, I see nothing wrong with my self. I'm a little overweight, but not terribly huge, there is still a lot of definition on me. I think I'm pretty, for the most part, and I've been told I'm beautiful on many occasions. (I'm really not trying to sound conceited here, I'm trying to make a point.) I also have a genuine love for people and a kind heart, so I ask myself all the time why I don't have a boyfriend. And I still don't know why! But I'm not trying to search for one either, because that just brings jerks and douchebags. You said you're in your late teens, which means guys your age are mostly idiots and they don't recognize a good-hearted girl when they see one. You're going to find a good guy eventually... I know you will.

  • The optimist in me wants to tell you that Prince Charming will come if you wait but the realist is telling me that you need to take the initiative and snatch a boyfriend before it's too late.

Risk. There's much risk and danger in having faith in man and hoping he'll come through for you.

Don't worry about it. You'll get there. There's no timetable to be adhered to with any of this. It's your life and you don't need to hold it up for scrutiny against anyone else's life. Both the posters above me make good points.

Just cuz you've never had a bf before doesn't mean that you're weird or anything. Some people feel like they NEED that other person, and some just don't. It's perfectly normal. You don't always have to compare yourself to everyone else, it's your life.
