It could be due to the way that you are consuming the cold drink/food. A brain freeze occurs when cold temperatures touch the hard palate of the roof of your mouth. Above this palate are nerves that send messages to the brain that it's about to get cold. Your brain then "flips a switch" and constricts the blood vessels to conserve heat. Soon the brain dilates these same vessels and sends the warmed blood back causing the pain and "brain freeze" sensation. If the cold food/drink doesn't make contact with the roof of your mouth or if your nerves are less sensitive you won't experience this problem.
I'm in the same boat. Never had a brain freeze either. I don't even get the nose or throat freeze as some people call them. Even tried holding some ice to the top of my mouth when I was little, just to see what would happen. Nothing. So you certainly aren't alone.
I have only had it 2-3 times in my life, if you eat things like ice cream and lolly all the time then I would say it is fairly odd that you have never expierenced it, but if you are like me and don't really like ice cream then I would say pretty normal.
No. But lucky. If you want to get one, just eat a lot of ice-cream as quick as you can. Don't see why you'd want one though, I get them really easily all the time.
