Is it normal to have metal implants?

You know, like screws, plates, rods? I have a plate in my arm and a rod in my femur, along with screws to hold both in place. Is this common, or am I just one unlucky son of a ditch?

    Depends on your age.

If you're in your twenties, it's not common. But you're definitely not alone

It's normal, I used to have some metal "thingy" in my leg when I was younger, but it's out now.

I should have one in my right forearm but there were complications (not sure what, I was only seven). A few friends have them, and another friend has artificial tendons. Guess we play rough where I grew up.

    I don't think it's uncommon.
