Is it normal to have lots of dandruff after using shampoo?

Happens every time after showering and using shampoo. Dandruff is so annoying! It's especially bad on the sides of my head.

Not using shampoo seems to reduce the amount. But oddly, using anti-dandruff shampoo appears to do nothing, or maybe even makes it worse!

Heads & Shoulders, you lied to me...

I don't think it's dandruff - I've had this issue before. Sounds like you're not washing the shampoo out properly, especially as you mention that it happens after showering and washing your hair. Make sure to use the palms of your hands to lather and that every last scrap of shampoo is washed out.

after using shampoo, rinse it very well or you may have even more dandruff!

My hair does the same. Rinse out the shampoo REALLY well, and if you use conditioner only use it on the ends - not the scalp. I become overly sensitive when I use a shampoo too much (ie even before the end of the bottle) and have yo switch brands regularly. A lot of brands I can't go back to. Some I can have a break from for a bit and then get a couple of washes from. Needless to say I have a lot of shampoo bottles in my shower!!
Cheap brands are bad. Even, the more moderately priced, but more "commercial" brands I can't use. Every now and then I'll use an anti-dandruff shampoo a couple of times and this helps, but there are a couple of brands that I 'overused' in the past that I can't go back to :( it's a pain in the behind! I also find that drying my hair with a blow dryer helps (at least the roots) maybe because the scalp isn't wet for a long period of time?? My brother has the same problem.
    Hope that helps!!
