Is it normal to have insomnia after quittin weed?

Okay, so i havent lit one up in over a month, not by choice.. got a blood drug test comin up and gotta pass it. butt i haven't been able to fall asleep no matter how hard i try to until like between 7-9am every single night since i've stopped smoking regularly..

but when i was smoking on a daily basis, i was sleeping from like 10pm till 8am every night without a problem. and felt way more alert and focused when smoking.. is this normal?? i feel that me being high is like you being sober and vise versa.. any suggestions?

I don't have that problem. How well did you sleep before you started smoking weed? Maybe you could mix up your bedtime routine.

~ Keep your room very cool (air-conditioning), dark (tinfoil windows or wear sleep mask), and quiet (earplugs - the orange tapered are best).

~ Eat or drink something with protein right before you're ready to go to bed. Milk is a good option.

~ Stop watching TV or using a computer at least an hour before sleep. It has blue light that stimulates your mind to stay awake. The same with flourecent lights.

~ Reading is a quiet activity, but if you have troubles sleeping, don't do it in bed before you sleep.

~ You could try taking a shower or bath immediately before you hop into bed. It can raise your body tempurature slightly and when it drops back to normal, it simulates the lowering of the body tempurature while we sleep.

~ Get some hypnosis downloads/CDs made specifically for sleeping. They work well, especially since you use to puff.

    ~ Valerian root supliments.

~ If you have a spouse, ask them to give you a relaxing 10-minute massage on your head, neck, and shoulders.

Normal, same here. I didn't sleep for one night on purpose and the next one a went to bed at 11 pm. After that it was easier to fall asleep.

It's normal. Happened to me also, about 2-3 weeks later I was able to sleep normal again. I smoked more cigarettes for awhile then eventually gave those up too.
