Is it normal to have grown that fast that young?

Ok, so I'm a bit older now but I am a male, I hit puberty when I was 10 or 11. Honestly I thought it was supposed to be later, so I was lost. I had my first crush in the third grade, and by the 5th grade. I was about 5 foot in the third grade, and between then and seventh grade I grew another foot. But the thing is most of the change happened before I even turned 13. It was weird because it seemed like it was going really fast. I have no clue if this has to do with my early-age caffeine addiction or the seizures I had weekly until I was about 5, but if anyone knows It would be great to know if that's normal or not lol. People say its in the food/water.

PS- Still growing (damn)

I think it is totally normal. Kids are growing faster on these days and it is very common to see a 12 year old looking like an adult. When I was 13 I looked like 18, so don´t worry, it is completely normal.

Well caffeine can stunt growth.. Reason being it gets in the way of the absorption of nutrients from food. So then u don't get what the best from your food and hence not grow adequately. As far as growing too quickly goes, totally normal. It happens to men a lot more then women. Me (girl) personally... I'm the same height I was when I was 12... 11 years later. And I do believe it's Caffeine and nicotine. So don't stress and be glad. U cud be have been midget. :)

I have been shaving my legs and armpits since I was 9. And trust me, that hair was long for a while before I started shaving it LOL. I have been menstruating since 10 (Yeah, imagine being in grade 5 and being the only girl with your period.. who do you talk to?!). My first crush was in grade ONE.. All bodies are different - don't feel weird. :) It happens the opposite way, too - I know 20+ year olds that don't have chest hair yet!

It wouldn't be the caffeine. That would come closer to stunting your growth. Your pattern of growing is normal for many.

    • Actually, caffeine can't stunt your growth. Its been proven by doctors that this is just a lie to get children NOT to drink coffee.

But anyways, some people hit puberty before others and thats normal. There's a guy in grade 8 at my school and he could pass as an 18 year old with his deep voice and being really tall. So I think it is normal.
