Is it normal to have feet that smell this bad?

I've heard smelly feet stories, but I never thought I'd experience one. Lately my feet smell so bad that I can even smell them while standing up. I hate the fackin dirty smell! Is this normal at all and will it go away?

Sometimes this is caused by athletes foot or some kind of foot fungi. Consult a Podiatrist.

Your feet shouldn't smell that bad. Actually they shouldn't smell bad at all! There's nothing inherently smelly about feet, per se, except that we tend to keep them confined to shoes all day- this subjects them to warm, moist and stagnant conditions which is perfect for encouraging bacterial and fungal growth... If you kept your hands in mittens 10 hours a day, every day, they'd start to smell bad too!

I suggest you try to stave off the bacterial population- buy a new pair of shoes, soak your feet in a sanitizing solution (try a teaspoon of chlorine bleach diluted in a gallon of warm water, and change your socks at least three times a day (only thick cotton socks- no synthetics or wool). Once your body has found a healthy equalibrium, you shouldn't have any further problems.

    Good luck!

Not normal if you have clean feet, socks, and shoes.

    • I definitely have clean feet, socks, and shoes. Idk what happened. Maybe it's the change in my diet that's contributing to this...

What about your activities? And how long do you keep the shoes on at a time?

        • The most is usually 10 hours straight because of work, but after that I usually take them off and leave it like that for hours. I don't really walk around too much either and I'm not real energetic. Not sure why this is happening.
