Is it normal to have dark skin around my eyes?

About a year ago my eyes for no reason started to dry out really bad ( the skin around my eyes is what I mean ) At first I didn't care but then people started to notice. So a year later I found a cream to put around my eyes and it works, the skin is not dry anymore but now the skin is very dark and it looks like I haven't slept for days. Also the darkness is more around the left eye than the right. So is it normal and can you help me?

Very dry eye area or eyelids is a sign of chronic eczema. But now your dryness is reduced, the darkening of the skin occurs because of fluid accumulation because of allergies. Sometimes even the itching and scratching can also develop hyperpigmentation. Keep using the cream for dryness as if you discontinue; it may occur again. If the pigmentation is really serious, you can consult an expert.

  • Sleep properly, at least 8 hours consecutively, and sleep early.

Bio Oil will moisturize and help reduce the dark circles.

Dark circles around the eyes are due to a lifestyle where one gets very little sleep. The blood vessels can become congested and then gradually swell causing oedema (puffed eyes) and dark circles. Other than that extensive medical research can only diagnose what is causing it.

One factor may be exposure to heat or bright light( for dry eyes) usage of LCD or Plasma Screen monitor( like computers and TV). In this case only a lubricating eye drops would make a difference.

PS-Use Garnier eye roll on (outside the eyes on dark circles) or any caffeine gel or cream. That will reduce the dark eyes.

I have kinda the same thing happening to the skin under my eyes. They're age spots. I started using this stuff by Aveeno called Ageless Vitality night treatment, about 3 days ago and I already can tell that the dark spots are fading. If your dark circles are really dark then you should ask a dermatologist to prescribe something to help them fade, because any ol' beauty cream might not cut it.

Maybe you should consult a doctor.
