Is it normal to have constant nightmares?

For about 6 months now, I have ben having nightmares almost every night. It happens about 3-5 times a week. They started near the end of last summer and I have no idea why I am having them. They are really disturbing dreams like my family trying to kill me and stuff. I always had more nightmares than any of my friends. Whenever I talk to them about it, they really can't relate. I am not sure if there is something in my life that I need to change or if it is just bad luck. Either way, the dreams are really starting to bother me.

Same here. I don't think its a horrible thing. Maybe it is because you subside these thoughts when your conscious, so when your asleep, your mind is releasing these unpleasant thoughts. I'd say it's perfectly normal and some what healthy

They sound like unresolved anxiety about your family judging you (things always get amplified in dreams). Either way, it doesn't mean you did anything really bad.

During childhood, I used to have several nightmares of my sister killing me in various ways. I occasionally screamed in my sleep and had a handful of night terrors. Recently, I had a fit of several nightmares per night, every night for a week. That's the most I can relate.

The way I see it, this would be normal if not for the great amount of persistence it seems to have.

It's normal for this to happen, but with the rate you're at I would talk to a therapist about why you might be having these dreams.
