Is it normal to have chosen my sexuality?

I was born a heterosexual male. Around thirteen, I decided that it was a really narrow-minded way of thinking, and I was missing out on half of the population, so I watched gay porn until I had a sudden epiphany. I have no regrets. I cannot, and would not, go back. However, I have never met anyone with a similar story. Everyone else seems to still be the way they were born. IIN?
