Is it normal to have chest pain when running outside?

I have been active for almost all my life and I feel chest pain when running outside sometimes... When I started running outside earlier in the summer I felt chest pain. This I find strange because I am active; I go to the gym frequently and play 80 minute long rugby games... I told my doctor but he brushed over it... Nothing to worry about? Any explanations?

it prolly is lungs (unless you feel sharp pain in chest and tingling hands and shoulder then annoy yer doc) just not oxigenating properly therefor forcing more air in wich makes you hurt on chest imagine it has a extremly light asthma it's perfectly normal dun worry

Is it only when you run outdoors or does it happen when you run in general?
If it's only when you run outdoors it could be that the air quality is putting extra strain on your lungs.
If that's the case I would talk to your doctor about the possibility of an inhaler and switching to an indoor track or just a treadmill.

are you sure the chest pains aren't your heart?
