They're about a 1/4" deep or about 3/4 cm so less than 1 cm.

I'm guessing you're talking about having veins that you can actually see through the skin. If so, yes that's perfectly normal especially if you're in fairly good shape or have the right skin tone to allow light to pass through in the right way.

1 cm‽ That would be so deep. O.O

It's normal for them to be very near the skin. Think about it. If they were 1 cm or deeper, it would be extremely impractical for anybody to try to slit their wrists. Also, my wrists are only about 5 cm in diameter from the top and 3 cm from the side, so…

Don't worry! Some skin colours will show up veins more easily for a start and many veins are close to the surface - e.g. on the wrists. I can see mine, they must only be about 3mm 'down'. I like it when guys have sticky up veins on their arms and hands... it's hot. Some people will get what I mean by that, others definately won't. But there's actually research to suggest that there's some primeval reason why that's attractive - something to do woth good blood flow in a potential mate!?
