Is it normal to have an open relationship?

I just started dating this guy and neither of us are into monogamy. We really like each other so we decided to start dating, but ive never been in an actual relationship because everyone always wants exclusivity. Im really happy being able to spend lots of time with him and also have sex with other people! My friends think its really weird though and have told me its not going to last. To be honest im kind of worried now, is this not common? I feel like i dont usually see it working out but i think it can!

This is entirely up to you OP. Personally I love monogamy - it feels right to me. you find the right person and then click! Two little peas in a pod who get to share their lives together and be there through thick and thin, and giving your whole selves to each other. I don't understand open relationships and I never will. But that's ok. I don't have to understand it. It's your life and you should live it the way that makes you happy.

Basically what I'm saying is if you and this guy want to try an open relationship then please don't let other people's opinions stop you. Do your own thing.

    It's only normal if you're a degenerate.

I think just like so many things in society today, monogamy is outdated. I am married and still have that urge to venture out, never have, but I am scared one day my urges will get the best of me. If you are single, enjoy life, I consider this very normal, it has its disadvantages and advantages.
