Is it normal to have an inate skill at seeing people's true emotions?

Its not that I intentionally analyze people's behavior, or fixate on their nuances, but its like I can read somebody's soul sometimes. It can occur in meaningless conversation, or simply seeing somebody from a distance. Generally it reveals weaknes or hatred. Some are really good at suppressing it, which causes me to wonder if my mind is just messing with me. But when I dig deeper by talking with others and piecing together the puzzle of their lives, it appears to make logical sense

I tend to see the same in people, the weakness and hatred but also many other things there covering up...just remember your not always right and you may see what you want....check your true intentions, you may just be weak and hatefull yourself and your mind will play with you....

    I have that too.

For example I can distinquish fake and real crying.

Whenever someone is crying, I can sense a crying feeling in my stomach, though when it's fake I feel nothing.

I'm also able to sense someone's personality. (though not always)

    Perhaps it's our sixth sense.

I'm the same way...But I just pick up on if they are fake or full of it. When someone is talking to me I tend to see who they don't want me/people to see. I hate it and try to turn it off most of the time.
It's hard to explain but I just know when they are being real or full of B.S. I guess, like a human lie-detector. It really sucks when it's someone you have a lot of respect for.

i think people who are this aware of others are very obeservative, compassionate and have creative imaginations. weather your assumptions are true or not they make things more interesting.

I often feel the same way you have described. I don't necessarily think it is possible to remain objective, while labeling aspects of a stranger's character to be the result of weakness or hatred. To me it is more of a burden, because I can instinctively see right through most people. This makes it difficult to listen to them and engage in any meaningful conversation if I am feeling frustrated because I see and hear many of their fears.
