Is it normal to have an eye color insecurity?

I have dark brown eyes first of all, and I've always hated them.
Blue eyes to me are the most beautiful, and I have a weird obsession with them. It's as if I find them superior to brown eyes. I just can't find myself dating a guy with brown eyes, because I know Id be disappointed in his eye color and secretly long for a guy with blue eyes.
Many times I'm not even attracted to a guy personality wise or physically, I merely want him to notice me/be with me because of his eye color. It hurt me inside when I found out that blue eyed males naturally prefer blue eyed females, which made me grow resentful of the females. I also hate it when the lead female of any book or movie I'm watching has light colored eyes instead of brown eyes like me.

Before you say go for colored contacts- I naturally have light brown skin, and light eyes on me would look completely unnatural. So I'm kinda stuck like this.

I would LOVE to get over these feelings I have, but I can't help them most of them time...

    Blue/grey eyed guy here...So are you saying you resent blue eyed males because they go for blue eyed girls more and you don't have blue eyes but you wouldn't go for a guy with brown eyes? Kind of ironic...Or hypocritical, don't you think?

      But yes it is extremely shallow and I wish I wasn't like this

        They're not actually stealing anything yanno. Please remember turning into a green eyed monster won't actually turn your eyes green no matter how jealous you get.

          Id rather have blue ones XD and yes that's true but easier said than done. I can't control how my body reacts or feels, even if I want to

    I'm mostly Native American, my eyes are so dark brown, they look black. A lot of guys are attracted to my eyes, though. My boyfriend has gorgeous crystal blue eyes that I melt into all day long. :) I love light blonde hair and blue eyes and my boyfriend is the best example of that. ;)
    Not saying I'm shallow, just prefer blondes over any other.

    I've had a brown eyed blonde wife, a blue eyed blonde wife and a green eyed brunette wife and, though like you, I find blue eyes incredibly lovely, the color of any of my wives' eyes has really had very little to do with how much I loved them, or enjoyed being with them.
    When you fall for some guy, it really won't matter what color his eyes are, if he is a kind, devoted, loving human being.

    I have green eyes..

    Blue eyes is actually a mutation.

    The nice thing about brown eyes is that they are strong and not so sensitive to light.

    Chances are that if you have a child with a blue eyed guy, the child will have brown eyes. Stronger genes and stuff.

    I have brown/hazel eyes they have brown some green and yellow in them. My mom has blue eyes and so do my brothers. My bf has brown eyes.

    Actually most of the b fs I have had...had blue eyes! I am attracted to eyes. Now I dont just like a particular color just as long as they are pretty.

    You are starting to get a bit too jealous. Why not try to find the beauty in all the colors...dont get me wrong have seen some ugly eyes...but most are beautiful.
    Dispite my brown hazel and my b fs brown eyes ...my daughter has eyes that are brown around the pupil and starburst out a bit then the rest of here eye color is blue green color. :)

    One time I met this boy who was black but had these aqua blue eyes!!! They just popped against his dark skin... I found out later his mother was white and she had blue eyes as well. I will always remember how beautiful his eyes were.

      You're asking "why not find beauty in all colors".
      This is a body reaction. Logically, I would love to like brown eyes guys since all of the guys who hit on me have brown eyes and are not white. However, I can't help my body reaction and my jealousy

        I can see how you might not be able to help what you are attracted to...people prefer what they want in a mate.
        however the jealousy you can help.
        developing a positive veiw of yourself and of your own eye color can help. Its not good to get so jelouse you start to hate others for having what you do not.

    No really, my eyes are very dark brown, almost black. Most people say I have black eyes, some are even surprised and I like that.

    As for me... I don't have any eye color preferences. My current girlfriend has blue eyes, but I've had girlfriends with green and brown eyes. So eye color - not important. What's behind those eyes is important.

    I don't think its true that people with blue eyes prefer other people with blue eyes..
    I have green eyes but they're dark and my eyes are smallish so no one notices :< I prefer brown eyes on others

    I love deep dark brown eyes, light hazel eyes, that sort of amber golden coloured eyes, green eyes, dark blue eyes, grey-blue eyes, heterochromatic eyes...

    Fuck it, they can all be beautiful. Quit worrying.

    Lots of people tell me I have beautiful eyes. My eyes are so dark brown they can look black and I like that coz it adds to my mysteriousness and seductiveness.
