Is it normal to have an emotional attachment to tv characters?

Not just characters played by real people like Charlie on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia or Captain Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but characters on animated shows, like Stewie Griffin on Family Guy or Fry off Futurama.

After you've come to know them over time. Watching them on TV makes you feel cozy as if you're with a friend.

    I'm like that with Glee.
I get so attached to the characters/storyline that if it's an emotional scene I'll usually get ready eyed at the very least, haha.

I never watched that show. I don't even know what it's about. That and Gray's Anatomy. No idea. I figure they're dramas.

When I watch Heartbreak High, I feel as if I know all of the characters in real life, I even dream about them sometimes.

Normal. I always become very attached to the characters from my favorite shows and movies. I even take it a step further and actually make those characters my imaginary friends.

If you are a very lonesome person. When the fifth season of Angel ended i felt like my whole family just died. I think i am still mourning. Poor Wesley. What a stupid death.
