Is it normal to have an aversion to new knowledge

I've noticed this about myself...I like to learn new things and I have netflix. There are an abundance of documentaries that I find interesting and feel that I could learn some important information from but it's almost like I'm afraid to watch them.

I also have a lot of education books that I've bought and at one time had an interest in reading but I keep putting it off or avoiding reading them. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this.

I almost feel like I'm afraid to learn even though I want to.

it's strange but I experience something like that, too. For me one reason could be that I want to be in the right kind of mood (focused and perceptive) for the mental effort that's required.
I also become frustrated that my curiosity about things often exceeds my capacity to understand them. And new knowledge can be overwhelming. It needs to be assimilated in our minds - old information either thrown out or fitted into or around the new; lol, almost like re-arranging parts of our mind.
