Is it normal to have a unique view on allowing illegal immigration?

The way I see it, we don't have to have either extreme of keeping them out or opening borders. All we have to do is make a TV game show out of it! We put deadly obstacles on the border and monitor it with television cameras. Those that make it across win freedom and citizenship, and those who don't, well, let's just say that our buzzards won't starve. We could call it 'Who Wants to be an Immigrant?'

I'd agree, but I'd make it a fairer fight. Like a meritocracy. If someone wants to come into your country, someone already existing in your country is chosen at random to compete with them. If the emigree can add up or speak your language better than the chosen citizen or are generally more useful than the chosen citizen, the citizen swaps places and goes to the country they came from while they take the citizen's place.

Seems fair. Everyone gets what they actually deserve, not what someone thinks they deserve. Now - are we all sitting comfortably in our ivory towers?

Excellent. I'd certainly prefer the intelligent immigrants over the ruthless, animalistic ones. Unless, of course, we are considering drafting them as soon as they gain their citizenship.

Not only that, you get rid of undesirables. I know this is a bit right-wing for me and I did say it somewhat tongue-in-cheek but, in reality, this is how businesses work.

If the world equalised and each of us ended up where we deserved to be, most people would be out of the country they call home. I don't think I'm valuable enough to be in England or America. I don't know many people who are. But I'd hope for, say, Greenland. That'd do for me!

Oh, come on. England so deserves you. And the U.S. could definitely use a dappled or two.

As for me though... Send me to Italy. I'm just as confusing and divided as the language they speak.

Ha! I was thinking about a man I interviewed from Pakistan. He needed the job to get a permit to live here. I don't think I've ever been so impressed by an interview candidate. I'm sure he could do most of my job better than me.

I don't know about getting into America, either. What I need is a clever American who wants to live in England. He displaces me and then I go to America.

Ha! You know what I'd do? I'd find out where all the IINers live, then I'd travel around, knocking on doors, and say, "Hi! It's dappled. I'm here to stay the week". You're all so nice, you'd let me stay! :D

You know what I like this idea. I also think we should give them actual citizenship if they do make it. Like citizenship is the prize.
