Is it normal to have a swollen jaw when a wisdom tooth is coming in?

okay well I have a wisdom tooth coming in on the lower left, I already know its coming in at an angle. It has not broken the gumline yet. The left side of my jaw is swollen, and has been for the past week or so along with the left side of my chin and lip being numb.

It is piercing the gum tissue. Get to your dentist if it is coming in crooked. They will do xrays to determine the angles. The tooth may have to be pulled or surgically removed. Fairly painless procedures given the right narcotics.
