Is it normal to have a small dot under the iris part of your eye?

Okay, my left eye has this weird, really small dot right under the iris of my eye. My eyes are dark brown and this dot is darker brown. This dot is just outside my iris, but seems to be part of the iris. It's not uncomfortable and hasn't moved at all. You know how most irises are round. Well, mine is round except for that little dot there. I haven't ever noticed until within the past few years. So, this is a pretty recent occurrence, not a birthmark. I was wondering, of course, if this is normal. And, I was also wondering if anybody has any idea what this is or could be going on. I sure don't know.

Yeah, it's not really bugging me. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was or if it could be harming my eye without my knowledge.

My boyfriend has the same thing, im not sure what it is but i really dont think its anything too serious but if you have any strange symptoms or if its just really bugging you ask your dr and if they think something is up they will have you see a eye dr

Having small dots outside the iris is fairly common. It's generally stray pigmentation. My mum has one. However, you said yours is recent. I suppose it could be raised pressure in the eye. It's worth getting it checked out, and an eye examination also highlights a large range of general health issues that may have gone unnoticed.

I'm not sure what it would be . But if your worried go to an eye doctor and ask them about it just to clear things up
