Is it normal to have a slight speech slur/stumble/difficulty?

Is it normal to have a slight speech difficulty/stumble every few sentences? It can be described as a stumble between two words evey few sentences, and isn't like a huge ALERT sign when it happens, as most people just don't think much it, as did I until recently. It's only when I'm formulating my own speech, and not when I'm reading text aloud, nor do U stumble when thinking in my head. It's been going on for AT LEAST 6 months, during which I have visited my normal and eye doctors for annual check-ups. I'm hoping this speech thing may just be because I speak to fast or something similar. One more thing: it's not like an all out slur, and there's no trend as to when it happens.

I have a slight one sometimes. My thoughts are always going..for example, if I wanted to ask you what your favorite color was, I'd be thinking of several ways to phrase it: what's your favorite color, what color do you like the most, which color do you like best..etc. That was just an example, I'd clearly just say what's your favorite color, but you get the idea.

That is exactly what I do. I say things in a certain way to minimise certain letters appearing close together and leading to a possible slur.

Aww! It actually happened a lot to me today because I'm particularly stressed so I guess I had a lot on my mind. My words were just all smushed together and I felt like an idiot :{.

I can relate to this. I don't believe what I have is a sign of anything serious (can't find anything on the Internet about it), and I do have a lot of people that tell me I speak kinda fast, either to say everything I want to in one breath or to get my speech across as soon as possible. Can anyone who naturally speaks fast relate to what I'm experiencing?

I don't think you should worry about it too much. You sound perfectly fine :}, probably just all in your head like it is with me. It happens to me when I'm stressed out and have even more on my mind than usual, so I have control over it. But it really doesn't bother me.

I don't think mine has to do with speed necessarily. If you're still concerned, you could talk to your doctor. They might send you to speech therapy or something where they can determine if it's nothing or if it's neurological or something else.

I have a very slight and occasional one caused by my face once connecting very rapidly with someone's fist. Before I was hit, I had no slur. Afterwards, I had my slight one. I hated it at first and had to change the way I talk to minimise it. Now it's down to less than once a day.

I don't know about you, though, because yours sounds mental rather than physical.
