I just turned 19, and have had a boyfriend for a couple years. However, we haven't technically fully had vaginal sex yet, though we have tried like 5 times. Each time, he pushes the tip in, and then starts pushing against my hymen. He pushes until I feel this sharp, seering pain that makes me jump or scream. Then we have to quit, usually, but even if I tolerate him to keep trying, and endure the awful pain, it seems my hymen is really thick and steadfast. My bf has been waiting two years for sex. First, he was waiting for me to be of legal age, then he waited for me to be emotionally ready, now this. I read that some ppl go to the doctor to have surgery, bc a thick hymen is so painful. I don't want to do that though, and alert everyone to my problem. But now my bf is more determined that ever to have "real" sex with me, and he says next time, he will make me take it all the way, no matter how I screamed. What should I do? Anyone else have this problem?

    I don't know if it is entirely normal to have a Great Wall of Hymen. It seems to be uncommon and rare from what I know. I would highly suggest that you consult a doctor. This may seem a little odd, but what if your hymen was trying to prevent you from symbolically losing your virginity to this man?

    Have you tried stretching it/breaking it on your own? A small vibrator, a medium size, a large etc. I know they sell dilation sets for anal, so something similar to that. I would think you trying every day to get a little more in would eventually break it...

    But I would ask a doctor too. There could be a number of other issues going, besides just a thick hymen.

    And your boyfriend did sound like he wanted to rape you...

    This runs in my family. My great great grandmother had a thick hymen it ruined her first marriage. Back then nobody went to a doctor for that kind of thing either her future second husband had to be extremely patient and it took tons of trying and then stopping and trying again before it finally broke. Seriously like a couple years. My mother also had this problem. She ended up getting it surgically removed but I can remember she warned me about it. I ended up lucking out and not having a problem. I suggest you just see a doctor. Save you alot of pain and frustration in the long run.

        Because being the fact it ruined her marriage she warned her daughter it might be a problem my mother had this problem went crying to her mother something was wrong with her and her mother knew from her mother it was a family issue. So my mom told me so I wouldn't have to stress if I had the same condition. Sheesh. What did you think?
