Is it normal to have a mentally slow friend who is in love with you?

Okay, so there's this girl who is in love with me and she is my best friends girlfriend but she's pretty much his wife and they have a kid together. And I have a girlfriend who I've been with on and off for 4 and a half years. And my girlfriend hates the girl because the slow girl is in love with me and I have no idea what to do with the slow girl. I don't like her. She starts drama all the time. I just want to get rid of her, out of my life. And she CANNOT take the hint that I can't stand her. She still flirts with me even in front of her boyfriend/husband and he doesn't notice it or do anything about it if he does notice it because he is just as stubborn as she is. And I don't really wanna hurt her feelings but she just doesn't listen or take the hint. I don't want to get rid of my best friend because if I try to get rid of the slow girl, I'll lose my best friend.

Anyway, my questions about this are..

1. Have you ever had a mentally slow person who was or is in love with you? And if so, what did you do about it?

2. What can I do to get rid of her? But not lose my best friend in the process?

Any tips would be really appreciated.

Why haven't you talked to your best friend about how uncomfortable her behavior makes you?

  I have, he doesn't listen. I tell him "dude your wife is hitting on me and I don't like her. Tell her to stop, it's uncomfortable." And he just sits there like I'm not talking to him about it.

    The bigger issue is that your so called best friend completely ignored you when you tried to tell him how uncomfortable you were! Honestly, aside from physically harming her (which would be fucking ridiculous) I don't see how you can make her not want to be around you. I think you're gonna have to either deal with her or find someone else to hang out with.

Tell her you have genital and oral warts. So no high fiving private parts and no kissy kissy because you're extremely contagious!

maybe because shes slow she won't ever get it?, how slow is she? whenever shes around just be like all over your wife and say how much you love your wife and nobody else

  She's slow enough to not understand or listen to me when I tell her I don't like her like that. She's like family, anyway. If she wasn't with my best friend, I wouldn't have anything to do with her.
  
  And yup, I do that. She doesn't say anything about that. I think she's got something in her head like she has a chance with me. Obviously, when my wife/girlfriend weren't together for awhile I didn't get with her.
  
  I don't know how to really make her get away from me and stop liking me unless I just start being mean to her. She'll leave me alone most of the time if I'm mean to her.

This is really difficult. I would find it hard to be mean to someone mentally challenged as she's very open about how much she likes you.

However, if she does have a child she can't always follow her husband when he hangs out with you - especially if you two go out when the child is in bed.

If it really bothers you, I would suggest contacting your friend by telephone and not hurting her or upsetting your girlfriend.

"She's pretty much his wife?" Either she is or she isn't. Just saying you worded that kinda funny.

But anyway...talk to her in a context she will understand, and tell her you're not romantically interested and you're seeing someone else. Tell her nicely so you don't hurt her feelings. Good luck.

  I meant it like legally they are not married. They just call themselves married because they've been together for a couple years. Just like I have been with my girlfriend since high school, too.
  
  But I have tried to explain I don't like her that way. She's just over emotionally and I have been mean to her she will just cry. I don't want to be mean but there isn't much I can really do. Plus with my girlfriend hating her, too it kind of puts me in an awkward way since I don't like her and my girlfriend doesn't like her. My girlfriend has threatened to kick her ass multiple times. I honestly don't blame her since she has tried to make us break up before.
  
  She's in the way of everything. She tries to control her boyfriend, everything. If I could just hang out with my best friend I would but she gets in the way of us. She won't let my best friend hang out with me without her always around. It really pisses me off.

This is really wrong to say but she sounds like a slut.. Which is weird because I had no idea slow people could be sluts. :| But seriously that is messed up how you said she flirts with him in front of her own boyfriend. If I was him I would have already beat her ass.

      He's slow, too like his girlfriend/wife is just not as slow as his wife is but it's like I'm a teacher that they don't listen to. Because it goes in the ear out the other to them. Like wtf, you deaf? I think he needs a hearing aid or something.

  That's the thing I don't understand, when I do talk about it to him it's like he doesn't hear it. Maybe, he just doesn't want to accept it. But I can't go on with this, anymore. And even when I'm being really mean to her she'll cry then she'll leave me alone for awhile but then she'll start that annoying obsessed shit with me again.
