Is it normal to have a long term fwb relationship?

We've been fooling around since late 2016, we started having sex early 2018, and I don't want to stop it soon. He's unavailable to be in a relationship with (even though I'd definitely try a relationship with him if he was willing). I figure that I want to keep it going until I find someone better, but I don't want to stop any time soon. I also have a lot of my own shit to work on and I don't really have the energy to go out and go on dating sites and I'm pretty single focused, so I don't want to sleep with anyone else. Is it weird for me to want a long term fwb relationship?

    Be careful that you don't get your heart broken. The day he starts seeing someone else might really sting if you let this go on for too long.

    My advice is to get a new FWB who you wouldn't want to try a relationship with.

      I voted "normal" because it's common, and natural. It's a bit of a depressing story, though.

    It is normal.
    There are the benefits of a romantic relationship like friendship and sex. However, the burdens of a relationship like promises, expectations, commitment, those things are thankfully not there.

    Even if one of you finds a "real" relationship, things shouldn't really hurt. The partner can "make love" while you two fuck.
    Honestly though with the arrangement you two have, why on earth would either one of you WANT a "relationship" with an outsider? What could that person give that you two are not already giving each other? I applaud your situation. I am jealous.

    As far as "long term", Just ride things out (so to speak) as long as it works for you two.

    Enjoy it, sounds good but don’t forget that one day he will find someone to marry with. Keep that in mind and you can fall in love too, maybe sooner than him😘

    If you get along with somebody as a friend and sex happens without drama just go with it. Marriage and relationships are bullshit

    Honestly you make the best friends that way. If you can get along with somebody like that outside of a relationship checklist you struck gold.
