No I don't want to have sex with my sibling, but I think I might have an small school girl crush on my older brother (kinda like girls have on celebrities)
Im 19 and he is two years older then me. Whenever he was had a girl friend i have been kinda jealous of her and i want to be closer to him (not like sex, just to hold hands and stuff kinda like when two little kids like each other and they cuddle and hold hands)
Is this weird?
Does anyone else have a crush on a sibling?

    Yep. Well kinda.
    Your affection towards your brother are textbook 'family bond' feelings. Just like an older sibling is protective of their younger siblings (that's not sexual, is it), so are you of your brother. You're looking out for him, you're like a lion pride, just keeping an eye out.

      Yeah, I think "crush" is a misnomer. Having a crush on someone usually implies feelings of affection or desire that go beyond those considered to be part of a platonic relationship. If you are actually having real desires for your brother then it would be a problem and not normal or socially acceptable in any culture. Or at least I have never heard of it being so. And that is for obvious reasons; a baby born from incest is at an increased risk to be developmentally delayed and suffer from various birth defects and disorders.

      What it seems like to me is that you crave his attention. And that is normal; especially since he is your older brother. I would take a step back and consider the situation. Don't let yourself go overboard. It's great that you love and appreciate your brother but don't allow those feelings to become potentially harmful, to yourself or others.

      Yeh NO I don't think thats it at all. I dont think this person (anonymous) is being honnest with us or themself for that matter. When I was a teenager I had a crush on Colin Farrel & I can guaran-DANG-tee ya that I didnt wanta just hold his hand. Your 19 yrs old. Its probably NOT a school girl crush cause your NOT a school girl! Ive had those thoughts & the GOD AWFUL wet dreams about my brother before. I can admit that (anonymously to a computer). I think its natural for the human body & unconscious mind to react to someone of the opposite sex related or otherwise BUT IT IS UN-NATURAL TO ACT ON THOSE THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS! So first be honnest with yourself & stop pretending its innocent once you do that you can accept that while it is natural its not right. If you were like 8 and you had a "school-girl" crush on your teenage brother that would be a different story but you are a 19 year old women talking about a 21 year old man. Admit what your feeling get control of your body and mind. STOP spending so much intimate time alone with your brother and most importantly...GO FIND A BOYFRIEND!!!!!!

    I don't think what you have is really a crush. You might feel like you're losing your brother to a girl. You want that bond that you see him and his girlfriends usually have. You should probably speak with a counselor about this, they would help you better understand what you're feeling.

    I think my definition of "a crush" is a little different than yours. I would describe your feelings for your brother as affectionate, or something else like it.
