Is it normal to have a jumpy/shaky vision while sleepy?

This has happened to me several times.
when I get really sleepy or I'm about to fall a sleep my vision starts "shaking" or "jumping up and down". to experience that effect randomly move your head with your eyes open.
this effect is most common when eyes are closed.

is this normal?
