Is it normal to have a houseplant?

My girlfriend thinks it is very rare that my parents and grandparents have houseplants. What do you think?

    I have bunches on my balcony. The leafy green foliage hides my inner desolation.

    Normal!

    I use to live with my grandma and we had a lot of houseplants, big and small ones.

    I have some. They are beautiful, but not when you forget to feed them. I suggest getting a cactus, if you can't remember to water them:/ Hasn't she heard of Chiapets?

    I have one outside on the patio so it can get good sunlight.

    Interestingly I haven't watered it in months but it's still growing well. Apparently it's hard to kill off rosemary
