Is it normal to have a higher pain tolerance in some situations?

Whenever I know that pain is coming like when I go to the dentist or go and get blood taken I freak out and make it seem as though I am in a great deal of pain. Almost psyching myself out??? I have never been afraid of needles or anything and when thinking about the same situation happening to other people it doesn't bother me. And when ever pain comes unexpectedly I treat it like it's no big deal?? I broke my wrist playing Rugby last year and didn't even flinch, finished the game and then refused to let my mom take me to the hospital until lmost two days later. Has anyone else experienced this??

I'm also afraid of taking blood from my finger, but I once ran trough a glass door chasing my older bro, then I stood up and continued running towards him and started punching him and shit. And then after, when I saw im all bloody i started... well anyway.. adrenaline does shit does it?

Well honestly its not hard to figure out. See when u go to the dentist or have to get blood drawn that is pain you are expecting and know that it is coming to you. So you have time to mentally freak yourself out. Unexpected pain such as your broken wrist it is a pain or something your not anticipating so its pretty normal.
