Is it normal to have a hard time hanging out with other guys?

I am male. I have always had an extremely difficult time making friends with other guys. I have actually come to envy other guys that have a group of buddies that do things together.

I am a little overweight, though many girls think I'm cute, but I find I am attracted to other men because I wish I looked like them, not in a sexual way. Thus I am too scared to interact with other men because of fear of not fitting in based on appearance.

Can anyone help?
