Is it normal to have a friend that is trying to steal your friends?

I have a friend (Declan) and me and him have been good friends since the beginning of secondary school. But, my "mate" Joe has slowly got between us and turned Declan against me slowly. Its not like he hates me or anything but its just that Declan now prefers to be around Joe over me and when I join their conversation, Joe just pushes me away and Declan doesnt seem to try and stop him. Does anyone else have this problem?

    How does one 'steal' a friend? I've never heard of that and can't see how bit's possible, unless you don't understand the meaning of the word friend.

      Well obviously OP doesn't know what the term means or h/she wouldn't ask such a meaningless question. I'm repeatedly amazed by people who seem to think friendship is some sort of 'til death us do part' thing and anyone else who doesn't go along with that is betraying them.
