Like the altar scene in Apocolypso I felt like I was there looking down, great, Mel is a genius director imo then i took a kid to the grinch I felt ill until Jim Carey came on. The upturned noses and hair and big bright plastic everwhere I had to be strong , DO others have movies that strike a chord or provoke a feeling ?
Well, most "chords" that strike within me are the tearful/emotional scenes that make me teary, so I think it's normal. I even have "feelings" about certain books that I read.
I saw Kaboom this afternoon and I'm still in the "What the **** have I just seen?" phase. It was described as a sci-fi, romantic, horror, dystopian, comedy thriller so I thought, "Oh! That sounds interesting".
It is perhaps the worst film I have ever seen in my life. This is how I imagine it was written:
Author wakes up, sees L. Ron Hubbard on TV and says, "Okay, I don't have any other ideas so let's put him in the film". The TV news comes on about a Russian agent being poisoned by a dioxin. Okay, let's put that in. The whole plot seems to be just things he saw on TV that morning and pieced together into a very, very bizarre patchwork.
When three men in animal masks unveil themselves as the three people our protagonist had picked up for gay sex, I wet myself. But the best bit is some theory about gifted children who turn a bit odd. The protagonist's friend ends up in a lesbian relationship with one of them and she does voodoo sex on her. When the surprised lesbian says, "Wow. How did you do that?" I swear the voodoo lesbian said "I have special pants". That's what she said. I have special pants.
And then voodoo lesbian tried to throttle non-voodoo lesbian in a bathroom, with an effect that would have looked outdated in 1933, but luckily she gets shooed off by a squirt of water. Voodoo lesbians are allergic to water, apparently.
And how it ends? Oh. My. God.
And they call it sci-fi? You should have seen the guy's IM. It was like a command prompt in DOS.
I have special pants! I'll still be laughing at that when I wake up tomorrow.
