Is it normal to have a different favorite band every month?

So basically, I listen to a lot of music and it's usually always by some kind of rock, punk or indie band.
My favourite band of all time are Gorillaz, but when I get asked what my favourite band is, I give different answers every time.
For example, my favourite band was once Two Door Cinema Club, and i made everyone aware of this.
Then the next week I began to find their songs annoying so my favourite band changed to The Libertines.
This makes everyone think that I am 'fake' and am just listening to the music to seem cool.
I have about 20 favourite bands so people think I am weird if I start listing all of them. :/
Sometimes I adapt them and say the ones which I know the person likes too.
Is this normal?

  • It's perfectly normal although some people might look down on you for not staying 'loyal' to just one band. As for me, I think Depeche Mode will always be my fave.

I'm just like you. Even in the music taste, I don't even know what kind of music taste I have, there is so much great music.

This happens to me all the time. Maybe try not telling everyone what you like all the time because it makes it seem like you care more about the image of having a certain taste in music than the music itself.
