Is it normal to have a crush on your step-brother?

I have recently started to develop feelings for my step-brother. He is two years older than me and we see each other every other weekend.
We've known each other for about eight years and we've always had a sort of love/hate relationship.
We would annoy the hell out of each other and he would insult me but recently things have become different.
Before we would wrestle and I'd just be determined to win. But now I don't care about winning I just enjoy wrestling and it isn't as serious as it was before it's more playful. We'll be fighting and one of us will straddle the other and just sit there and tease the other. Or when we get tired I'll lie on his chest and he'll wrap his arm around me and we'll just stay there for ages.
He still insults me but it's not as intense as when we were younger.
I'm pretty sure it's not normal, I've never actually met anyone whose had a crush on their step-sibling before. I came clean to my friends about it and at first they were shocked but now they think I should go for him because it's not incest because we're only related by law not blood. I'm not sure what to do because I'm doubtful that the feelings I have towards him are mutal and even if they were I'm terrified of what would happen if I told him. What should I do?

    It's normal.
You shouldn't worry, I know a couple who are cousins!
It's not illegal, you don't exactly share the same blood with your step - brother. But it's not exactly that... Nice (is that the word

You're right. It's not illegal or even strictly immoral. You're two people who have met by peculiar circumstances (the seismic shift of families breaking apart and other families coming together). This could never have happened, your parents never met, he'd have remained a stranger and then you met him later in a club or something, and it'd just be a normal relationship.

But that didn't happen. Your parents did meet. And now you have this familial relationship, even though you're not blood-related. I'm sure you can understand why some people would have a problem with it, not least your actual family who may see two siblings wanting to enter a relationship as a bit incestuous. It's not fair, and it's not easy, but it is what it is. How you proceed is largely going to depend upon the personalities of the people involved. You, him, and your family.

He seems to enjoy "wrestling" as much as you do.

The best part is you don't even have to sneak out to sleep in a lover's bed! The family would be one hell of a third wheel though...

^^ I accidentally pressed submit comment halfway through. Whoops!

It's not exactly that... nice (is that the word?) to see 2 "Almost siblings" together. Do you see what I mean? But if you're comfortable with being with him, it's your choice. After all, it's your own life. (:

My work colleague started seeing his step sister and we did completely take the mick out of him for a few weeks but it's died down now...not sure how that's meant to make you feel better, I suppose I'm saying we accept it (even though it has nothing to do with us) His parents are fine with it and he's happy. It's not illegal and it may just seem odd at first for your friends but thinking about it you're doing nothing wrong, you only live once babeh!
