    I've been in love with the same woman for 10 years. She never reciprocated my feelings, and we haven't been on speaking terms for 8 years, but I can't seem to let go of the belief that we should have ended up together.

    Well, I think it's normal. I know how you feel squirrelgirl. I had a crush on the same guy for three and a half years and then fell in love for the first time at seventeen and it took me six years to let go of him. We were only together for a year and I had a lot of what if's. I used to dream that he and I would marry, but I doubt that will happen.
