I am pretty sure that I have a cold sore on my bottom middle lip. I am not exactly sure why though like I have not kissed anyone in months and I don't really share drinks a lot. Some tips on how to get rid of this would be awesome or a explanation on why I have it

My friend gets one in the same place frequently. She found that sunscreen helps. I know odd right? But She's a nurse and knows her stuff.
You could've gotten it from someone you kissed. The herpes virus is latent until triggered to come out. It's not exactly known what triggers the virus to pop out and say hey but bam there it is. There's abreva, herpacin, whatever other ointments there are for herpes, and prescription drugs like acyclovir and zostavax but that's all you can do. The herpes virus hides in your nerves so it's safe from the immune system (same as herpes zoster aka chicken pox/shingles) Anyways about 80% of people have it so it is quite common. It can be transferred to genitals and vice versa. As far as it being transferred from your parents...I highly doubt it unless you make out or share a drink with your parents but I'm too lazy to look it up...I just don't recall that from my micro classes. My mom had cold sores when she was pregnant and that was it but my brother and I don't. Awe well, it's not the worst. Good luck.
Cold sores are a herpe and you can get from parents also, thats how I got mine. I usually pop the blister with a needle, dap the sore with a tissue and put ointment on it and mine never develop but you have to do it as soon as you feel one coming on.
Since it is a herpe there's no way to permanently get rid of them for good.
I hate it, i usually get if january or febuary, then it goes away for the rest of the year.
