i have gotten canker sores before and i hate the but is it normal to have one on your gum line.oh yeah and it hurts like a bitch >:(
Sores on the gumline can be indicative of an abscessed tooth. You should go to your dentist and have them check it out.
I used to get those all the time... soooo annoying! Usually when my stress level was REALLY high.
i had canker sores for years. then my doc told me to take a vitamin B1 every day. after about 2 months, i never got them again. must take the vitamins forever though.
Yes, canker sores are normal and they are around the gumline. I am not sure if you are mistaken and have coldsores and that is what you are thinking of inside your mouth.
If it truly is a canker sore, it is simply a "mouth ulser" and is usually caused by trauma toward your gums and acid burns them more. The trauma could be caused by biting your gums or cutting your mouth with a utensil.
The acid in your mouth will continue to burn it until it is calloused over and only then it will stop burning. The reason it hurts is that the nerves in the gumline where the trauma is located at is more exposed and more susceptible to irritation.
The acid to cause it could be from anything but often fruit juice, suliva, or carbonated beverages such as soda is are to blame. During the time when a canker sore appears, I would avoid those type of things and if you bite your gum, try to at least cut down on those acidic stuff.
However, I didn't mention that I get them all the time and toward the teethline (Between the teeth and the bottom of your mouth) are by far the worst. I also have two canker sores as I drink a lot of soda (Still will, even with a sore.) and one is in this gumline.
However, when you get older you will stop giving a shit about them and continue to eat on the other side of your mouth and continue to enjoy your life.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I have one right now on my gumline, right above my tooth. And my dad was like, " that isn't normal...... i think you have an infection." well you know what? your wrong dad!!! it is normal!!!!
