Is it normal to have a bump on my nose after a removed nose piercing?

About four years ago I had my nose pierced with a small ring through it. I got tired of it after a few months and I pulled it out with a wrench. And now I have this small bump on the left side of my nose on the inside and out and it restricts my breathing a little bit but not badly.

First of all, why remove it with a wrench? What the hell kind of ring did your piercer give you that you couldn't remove it by hand? Anyway..

The bump isn't an infection, and isn't anything to worry about unless its expelling pus (dark yellow sticky matter, which is easily confused with lymph which is dead white blood cells that are pale yellow in colour and do not indicate infection) or unless the area hurts a lot and becomes really tender and sore. Those are signs of infection. Otherwise, you're good.

The bump is a mass of sorts, made up of scar tissue, lymph, and dead cells. It happens when you take the piercing out and the hole closes before all the dead stuff can be expelled. Over time, the bump does shrink, and you'll only be able to feel a small bump where the piercing was.

This is a fairly common thing with cartilage piercings, and again, nothing serious. You should still be cleaning the area for atleast a week after removal, though. Holes without piercings can get infected, too.

Also, don't listen to anyone else who tells you its an infection or its serious or gypsysailor who's rather old and just sees piercings as another thing the youth did wrong and will suffer later on for, I was a professional piercer and I know what I'm talking about. Also happened to be pierced well over 20 times.

Could be an infection or some sort. Was the wrench sterilised? Had you been taking out your piercing periodically to clean it? I think you should consult a doctor on this.

No the wrench was not sterilized. I did not take it out to clean it. I only cleaned it every time I showered.

    Scar tissue perhaps?

Yes, it's normal. You can probably fix it though, go see your doctor to direct you to some skin doctor.
