Is it normal to have a 20 day menstrual cycle?

My cycle is very irregular sometimes it's 30 days and very painful, other times it's just 20 days and not even painful. Ladies what are your cycles like I need to make a comparison with all the women on here, granted every woman's cycle is very unique. Is there someone out there in a similar cycle situation. I worry because of irregular cycles and infertility etc.

If you're referring to your complete cycle (period, ovulation, etc) then yes completely normal. Personally my cycle is about 40 days but every one is different. As long as you're not bleeding for 20-30 days. Dear lord lol

Bleeding for 20-30 days? Not normal (Assuming you misunderstood menstrual cycle for the time in which you're bleeding, which is technically your period.) and if you're bleeding for that long you NEED to see a doctor.

Now, thirty days between the start of one period to the start of the next? (the actual, full menstrual cycle) That's pretty normal.

So it depends what you mean by menstrual cycle. Since some people use the term "Menstrual cycle" for what is actually just their period. Either way though, if it is causing you a lot of pain you should get yourself checked out, just in case there's something wrong. Better to catch it early after all.

You NEED to see a doctor. That's definitely not normal.

A 'normal' menstrual cycle is tied to the Lunar Cycle, approximately 29.53 days.

Seeing a Doctor of Gynecology is sound advice.

I think it is completely normal. Some women have very irregular periods from the day they start them until they reach menopause. Our bodies aren't machines after all.
20 day cycle doesn't sound bad. Neither does 30 days. I know women who have 40 day cycles and they are completely healthy.
I am sure you fertility is fine. When it comes to the time when/if you want a baby, a little bit of calculation, temperature tracking and ovulation tests will help a lot. I am sure getting pregnant will not be a big problem.
If you are still worried then go to your GP. They could talk things through with you and offer you some advice on what to do when your periods do get painful.

If you mean you are bleeding for 20 straight days no. Go to the doctor. The longest you are suppose to bleed is 5-12 days. You can for less but that is the average.

It's definitely on the short side, but apparently 21 days is within the normal range, so you're not that far outside it. Often, a short menstrual cycle is nothing to worry about, but if you can, you should probably talk to your GP or your gynaecologist to make sure.

I think that you are probably fine because everybody's cycle varies, quite dramatically. But to be sure you could see your Doctor, which would hopefully give you peace of mind.

    I don't think that's normal.

Menstrual cycles should only be up to a week long. Have you seen a doctor about it?
