I am from VA and recently we expierience an Earth Quake and Hurricane within the same week.I keep comptemplating what in hell did we do to mother nature and God to recive a 5.9 Earth quake and a catorgory 2 hurricane. It's perplexing really. And its been 4 days and my friends, family and associates who I do not care for do not have electricity, but ironicly i do and everyone are suddenly my bestpals hmm?? Did I mention that disaster relief is staying at the hyatt with no power. If only Kanye West could spare some power. The other day I was driving with my mom to pick up awesome cousins and there was a creepy Dominican-Afrocuban man directing Traffic around a fallen tree. with a Pencil and brocken Stick dancing i dnt think he is a state employee. Only in Virginia.Any Is this normal? Am i normal because During the whole thing I was exercising in the dark and practicing. Live long and Prosper fellow HUMANZZZ Also the local radio stations are playing songs about power,All of krogers meat went bad and ppl are looting on the south side. Also a family friend left her apartment came back and a thief stole her belongings ate her food and fell a sleep in her bed. I never seen a thief so at peace until he got a wiffle bat to the face. And Reservation at Jail Is any of this NORMAL?

Okay, so a few things here.
    1) I live in VA too, so high 5!
    2) The last major quake was in the 80's or something, which just means that we were due for one for a long time.
    3) The hurricane was coming long before the Earthquake even hit.
    4) The hurricane wasn't AS bad as the weather channel wanted us to believe. It ended up doing a lot less than what they hyped it up to be, so chill out!
    and finally
5)We live in a world full of possibilities. You know how they always say 'Expect the Unexpected?' Well, anything can happen. And Murphy's law states that if it could happen, it probably will, and at the most inappropriate time.

    So yeah...normal.

Some of that sounds quite surreal, but given the circumstances you can't really expect normality. Unfortunately, an interruption of normal life gives rise to opportunist thieves and looters. I lol'd at your description of that self-appointed traffic warden, though. He sounds like quite a character. A bit insensitive of the radio stations to play songs about power... Hope it all goes back to normal soon!

It's coincidence. Also, bad things happen for no reason. The dinosaurs didn't do bad dinosaur things that led to an asteroid impact. Humans, however, do bad human things which will lead to catastrophe.
