I have always hated my name ever since I was very young, it makes me uncomfortable when people call me by my name to the point where it makes me really sad, I turn 18 in a couple of months & am planning on changing it but my parents & most of my friends think it's weird & shame me, causing me to feel really conflicted am I just weird or is this normal
Yes, that's normal.
Don't be afraid or ashamed to change your name to something you're comfortable with. Just make sure you won't regret it years down the road.

Another solution. Don't change your name but adopt one you like and ask people to call you that. It would be like a nick name.
By all means change it, but that's the easy part. After that you have to get all your documentation ID changed and hardest of all, stop answering to your old name until people accept the new one.
Couldn't you just shorten it or something for now? I used to hate my name but as the years went by I've grown to love it.
You have the right to change your name if you see it fit. We, after all, did not choose our names, but dubbed by someone else and branded as something. If you dont like it, than you dont! Fuck if its normal or not

Unless you are called "Taserface" or "Scrotumhat", you don't need to change it.
I have a friend who hates his name and will not talk to anyone who calls him by it. While I do not think it is normal, it definitely isn't a bad thing. I'm not sure what do about your friends and family but if they will call you by a different name then start introducing yourself with that name. My friend goes by his middle name.
