Is it normal to hate when people leave their books in the bathroom?

I really hate when people leave their taking-a-dump books in the bathroom. I'm not exactly sure why it annoys me. I just feel really angry when I go to the bathroom and see their magazines or books on the toilet tank cover. I always take me books out of the bathroom after taking a dump, because i don't want others shit essence soaking into my book. Is it normal?

    It annoys me too- seeing people's books. I don't like it because I love books so much, and I think they should be kept clean. I dont want to touch a book someone has been reading while they take a dump! People have low hygiene standards, and I can't be sure there isn't faeces on the book or magazine ... Totally grosses me out and annoys me at the same time.

    I agree with mumbum. I don't see the need for books in the bathroom. Once in a while you even come across bathrooms with all kinds of furniture like shelf structures and even armchairs (in interior design magazines mostly) I don't think I'd be comfortable doing my business in there. It'd be too much like doing it in someone's living room.

    It annoys me too! I find it so sad that people can't move their bowels without being entertained by a magazine or book. But fine if that is your personal choice at least clean up after yourself and take the books/magazines out when you are done.

    Why on earth would they put it on the tank?!

    What I do is place my chosen books on the radiator and sometimes when I'm done I'll throw them on floor away from the loo. I retrieve them after I'm done washing my hands. I suppose your best options are to either get a bookshelf or set toilet rules. Whichever, works best...

    Yuk! Sometimes people smoke on the loo too I don't see what is so great about spending 1 second longer than necessary in there. That is a disgusting habit

    Same. I can't keep my toothbrush sitting out in the bathroom either because I'm convinced that it will get contaminated with what I like to call "poop spores"

      Yeah well it will if people don't put the lid down before they flush the toilet. Amazes me, hasn't it occurred to most people that the toilet has a lid for a reason?

    I leave books on the back of my toilet but it's for when I take a bath. Is that gross too?

    I leave mine on the side of the sink. When I'm using the sink, I put it on the side of the bath. If someone got angry about this, I'd remind them of the ten trillion things in the world more worthy of their anger. There are a billion people in the world without clean drinking water. A fucking billion! That makes me incandescent.
