Is it normal to hate this?

OK let's talk about em, everyone has them, i have two. first one is. i can't stand it when people put a "?" at the end of a statement, when it isn't a question. -_- and second one is whenever i turn the volume up on the TV the number has to be in the 5 times table. i don't know why.. :P

I can't stand when levels of volume are on an odd number. GWAH.

The tv thing might be since your tv has 3 volumes. Maybe one is up when the others are down.

This could spiral into OCD .. Loosen up. Do a couple of excersizes by putting the volume of different levels, not in the 5 times table, and write to someone with ?'s.

Why do you care so much to post it? Thats my question. Get over it, get a new TV.

I agree with you on the "question mark after a statement" thing...I hate when people do it too! Take this for an example:
"Find the next number in the pattern?" while it should be "Find the next number in the pattern." with a period, because it's a sentence, even though it is asking you to do something.
It makes me want to read that statement as a question!

  • I don't have a problem with either of those things, but I still think your are normal for having pet peeves.

Just a side note: I use question marks at the end of a statement (occasionally), because I am unsure of my answer and I find a question mark portrays that unsureness more accurately than a period (stop). I've never once thought that I may be offending people with this creative use of a punctuation mark. My apologies for trampling on your rules of punctuation - no harm was intended.

I'm the exact same with my tv volume but the volume in my car has to be by even numbers except when I turn my car off--then it has to be ON 5.

A desire for grammatical correctness is called being a pedant. The TV volume is the lowest form of OCD really. Everyone has small life rules to play by mine are always even numbers.
