Is it normal to hate therapists & still want to be one

I don't like therapists because I feel they /tell/ you what you're thinking. However, I want to be a therapist because I can tell you first hand having someone to talk to helps be it a councilor or a best friend. I just want be able to help people like my confidant helped me. Is it normal?

I have only seen one, and my experience was good, i've heard they can be bad for some people if they dont get the right person. maybe im just lucky i found someone that could help me, and cares about his clients.

i want to be become just like him, im an 18 year old male and currently on my way to become a Nurse when im older, i love helping people. Sinse i have had depression, i know what its like to feel like them, so i try my best to help my friends who have it, and i belive it is working.

Even though i dont have any 'qulifications' to use, i still do what i can, when i can, and a caring personality and empathic nature helps me help and understand them :')

    In answer to your question,
I think it is normal, if you have had bad experiences with them in the past especially. Its true some of them dont care, or seem cold, but i belive its just a matter of finding the right peoson to help you, even if you go through 100 different people, someone will be able to help you eventually. (not just talking to you, im also talking to whoever this may relate to) :')

    Goodluck :)

It's normal. You are feeling a calling to the Dark Side. Once you have infiltrated the therapist ranks, you will be well placed to put your evil plan into motion.

You will have dozens of emotionally vulnerable people flocking to you, and you can use manipulation, hypnosis and brainwashing to form them into your own private army.

  • Yes...the best way to affect change is to join the ranks and influence from within.

It's normal. I have grown to have a great disdain for psychiatrists. But a therapist is different at least they don't pill push. I think you should follow your dream and become the rare exception in the field. A person that actually cares for the patients. I wish I had a doctor like that.
